Oceanside | The Ocean

I think that I could easily argue that the ocean was the best part of this trip.
I could probably easily argue that the ocean is one of my favorite things in this life.
It's not like I thought about going into Marine Biology or anything.
Or like my First Love "song" was "The Ocean" By Mae
No, nothing like that.

This was my first real sight of the ocean. We finished breakfast and then walked down to the beach and this was on the way!

The Captain got a little too close to the waves. Also I apparently take a lot of secret photos of him. I whittled these down considerably. You're welcome :)

I really loved the sand. The black and the white striated together. I almost brought some black sand home, but I forgot... It's all good though, I'm not really sure what I would have done with it. Do you guys take sand? Seashells (I took some of those)? What do you do with them once you're home? Pictures I can work with, I'm not so good with actual souvenirs.

This was the sunset on the first day. I don't know if you can really beat beach sunsets.

I feel like in at least that first picture, George here (I name a lot of things George. Apologies in advance), wanted to kill me. He just kind of chilled there and let a bunch of people take pictures of him. Whilst maybe plotting our deaths. No big deal.

Did you know that you can skip seashells? You totally can. I didn't attempt because I have yet to become confident enough in my skipping skills. I always get brave and then totally botch it.

We both went swimming not long after this picture was taken. I admit that The Captain had to convince me a bit... the water was cold! But it was fun anyway. I think that's the farthest out into the ocean I've ever swam. We chased each other and raced and sat in the surf, unfortunately I don't have a waterproof camera so you'll just have to imagine how adorable we were ;)

I've now been in the Atlantic and the Pacific ocean within a 6 months thanks to The Captain's parents living in Florida.

It was a great trip and I loved being so close to the beach! It was only about a 15 minute walk from our hotel (by the way I walked home from swimming in my wet swimming suit and a t-shirt on top and everyone gave me the weirdest looks! I have got to get a cover up!) so we went all the time. We will definitely be going back to Oceanside again!

Have you been to Oceanside? What is your favorite place by the Ocean(side) ;)?
