10 Talks to Re-Read Before General Conference

I know that I fell down on the job with this post last conference, and I almost did this time too. In fact, part of the reason I announced it last Sunday was so I would be sure to do it this Sunday.

Anyway, on to the talks!

1. A Summer with Great Aunt Rose -Pres. Uchtdorf
I liked this one because he talks about how we can be happy, no matter our circumstance.

2. It Works Wonderfully -Pres. Uchtdorf
Because sometimes the Gospel seems hard, and it shouldn't be.

3. God is at the Helm -Elder M. Russell Ballard
I liked this one because I feel like there has been a lot of unrest about the church and the leaders of the Church. I feel like it's important to remember that God is at the helm.

4. What Lack I Yet? -Elder Larry R. Lawrence
This one was really good for me because I am always trying to make new goals and improve.

5. The Pleasing Word of God -Elder Francisco J. Vinas
This talk was full of hope and Joy in the Atonement :)

6. Shipshape and Bristol Fashion: Be Temple Worthy- in Good Times and Bad Times -Elder Quentin L. Cook
I chose this one because it's something I am always trying to remember. I want to always remember where my priorities lie and what is most important. Going to the temple has been a huge blessing in my life and I don't ever want to lose the privilege of attending it.

7. Meeting the Challenges of Today's World -Elder Robert D. Hales
Just a really good talk about making decisions and always staying on the Lord's Path.

8. Behold Thy Mother -Elder Jeffery R. Holland
'So in any moment of temptation, may we "behold [our] mother" as well as our Savior and spare them both the sorrow of our sinning.'
I loved this talk because it reminded me of one of my life mottos about not tarnishing the name of anyone connected to me "I don't do anything to dishonor my family, my friends, or my God."

9. Faith is not by Chance but by Choice- Elder Neil L. Andersen
Such a good reminder that Faith needs to be nourished. We have to choose it, over and over again.

10. My Heart Pondereth Them Continually -Devin G. Durrant
Ponderize is now in everyone's vocabulary. I like that we can choose a new scripture each week to remember.

Well good luck! I hope you enjoy the talks! It was really hard to pick because I loved so many of them :) Can't wait till Conference!
