Monday Moments

Well, last week was pretty eventful, and not altogether fun for me, but hey, it wasn't horrible. Really.

You see last week started with me hitting a deer.
Sort of.
I was on my way to work and out of nowhere (or so it seemed) a deer was running in front of my car. The poor thing had *almost* made it safely all the way across the road, just for me to nick its hind quarters with my front corner.
My heart raced at the speed of sound for a few minutes while I repeated, "Oh my goodness" over and over and found my way into a neighborhood church parking lot. There I made it most of the way through the phone call to the Captain before I started crying my eyes out.
I felt so bad for the deer and for hurting our car.

Luckily, the day ended with the Captain and I at the temple. If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't sure that I wanted to go. I was pretty exhausted by the time I got home from work, but I knew that we should go anyway and I'm so grateful that I did. The sunset and the time spent there were well worth it.

If you follow me on instagram, then you know that the Captain and I had a pretty awesome date on Thursday night. Between the good food, the best company, and the pretty scenery it was something to remember. I only wished that I had brought a real camera instead of just my phone. The food was so good that I plan on doing a completely separate post on it :)

Four years later I finally finished this journal. I have loved this journal so much. It was a gift from my little sister. I had been so anxious to use it, I knew that it would be recording some epic happenings. Since it was the journal I used when I started dating the Captain and the one I was still using when I got married, I'd have to say that the predictions worked out pretty well.

In the currently reading category, I just finished this book. I would highly recommend it. It was nothing like I thought that it would be. In fact, for some odd reason I thought that it was going to be about mermaids. I have never been so happy to be wrong! It's more about forgiveness and how wrong things seem right in the right situations.
As a warning, there is some cursing in this book, including one "F" word. I don't usually read books that have that sort of thing in them, so be forewarned, but I would still say it's worth the read.

We are still loving this little park by our house. Especially with all the tiny ducklings scattered around. The only downside is the gnats, but beyond that the little park is just about perfect.

Thank you all for reading! I feel so lucky to have all of you!

Something to take with you, that I'm always re-teaching myself:

Happiness is an inside job,
Don't assign anyone else that much power over your life.

How has your week been? What are you guys doing/reading?
I'd love to hear from you! Don't be shy! ;)
